Creative development is the cornerstone of our agency. Led by director Anthony Bastic, AGB strives to push the creative boundaries with a fresh approach to concept development, combining passion and experience to deliver award-winning events.
Production is the key element to ensuring our ideas are delivered in an efficient and confident manner. With over 50 years combined experience working on major cultural, corporate and civic events, our core production team are among the leading event designers and producers in Australia. In a short time, AGB has established a proven track record for producing successful events that are delivered on time, on message and on budget.
AGB is recognised for designing and developing innovative cultural programs, not just events. Our team has the rare ability to integrate community, cultural and corporate perspectives into event programming. This unique skill set, combined with our long-term contacts and partnerships, grants us access to venues, speakers and content otherwise off limits to the events industry.

Principal and Creative Director
Anthony Bastic’s 25-plus year career in major event production has been characterised by a succession of high profile achievements.
One of Australia’s leading event designers and producers, Anthony served as Public Programs Manager for the Sydney Opera House from 1997 - 2000 and was the Creative Director of Sydney's live sites during the 2000 Olympic Games and Paralympics.
In his role as Cultural Programs Manager for Centennial Park, Anthony was instrumental in introducing night events to the venue, paving the way for the ever-popular Moonlight Cinema.
A 'go to' person for major sporting and government events, Anthony also worked as Creative Director of Festivities for the 2003 Rugby World Cup and Head of Events and International Visits for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, as well as a member of the creative team for the cultural component for APEC Australia 2007.
Anthony has established a highly successful partnership with both the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the National Gallery of Australia, producing the programs for The Con's Open Days in 2009 and 2010 and creating the opening gala events for the gallery’s Degas exhibition in 2008, the record-breaking Masterpieces from Paris exhibition in 2009/2010 and the opening celebrations for the gallery's new wing in 2010.
Anthony's creative strengths and leadership shone through in his role as producer for Vivid Sydney in 2009, for which he conceived the popular light walk concept and secured the services of legendary musician and multimedia artist, Brian Eno, to design the dazzling light display for the Sydney Opera House sails.
Following this success, Anthony produced the Lights On component of Vivid Sydney in 2010 and 2011. The 2011 festival proved the most successful yet with 43 light installations including the popular FireDance display.
In 2010 the concept was taken to Singapore where Anthony produced i Light Marina Bay - Asia's first sustainable light festival.
Since founding AGB Events, Anthony has conceived and produced a string of successful events including Macquarie Visions, a spectacular new light event that was named as a finalist for Best New Event in 2010 Australian Event Awards, Luminary at Parramatta, and The Lights of Christmas - to name but a few.
Director- Media and Commercial Partnerships
Lisa has 10 years business development experience, with 7 years experience in integrated media and sponsorship partnerships. Before joining AGB Events, Lisa was the Group Strategic Response and Advertising Manager for News Life Media (Magazine company of News Limited) responsible for the lifestyle and food division of magazines for Queensland.
Lisa is a “revenue creation” specialist with an extended understanding of media and sponsorship partnerships with a history of success in attracting and retaining key investors to media sponsorship and event projects.
Lisa’s core strength is designing partnership models, which meet the marketing objectives of sponsors, delivering creative strategies that align the client’s brand to the event platform whilst interactively engaging their products and campaign message to the desired target audience.
Lisa is skilled in engineering strategic media solutions, developing media and sponsorship plans and overseeing delivery of the campaign across selected media channels. Additionally Lisa is a competent and skilled marketer with 7 years’ experience devising ROI initiatives.
Senior Producer
Laura Roberts spent five years working for New York City’s top event production companies prior to joining the team at AGB Events.
From creation to execution, Laura project manages a wide variety of projects, including large-scale corporate meetings and events, festivals and outdoor events, brand initiatives, product launches, film and video, entertainment, virtual experiences and digital media.
Some of her project highlights include the launch of The Rolling Stones’ tour, as well as work with other major musical acts such as The Who, Counting Crows, James Taylor, The Eagles and Lenny Kravitz.
In addition, Laura has produced major events for the private sector, including companies such as PepsiCo and Frito-Lay, and the pharmaceutical and banking industries.
Laura returned to her native Australia in 2010 and joined AGB Events, where she has continued a commitment to producing flawless events of the highest calibre.
Senior Producer
Colin McCarlie joined AGB Events after returning from his native Canada, where he worked with the production team on the opening and closing ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
In a more than 15-year career in the events industry, he has produced a broad range of events throughout Australia, Japan, Asia and India and worked with blue chip brands on small to large scale productions.
Colin brings outstanding people management skills and financial acumen to AGB Events. He has a gift for managing budgets both big and small and ensuring events meet KPIs whilst delivering a return on investment.
With a background in music and theatre, Colin also boasts a deep understanding and knowledge of the performing arts - both from a producer and performer’s perspective - and a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects required for large events.
Art Director
Giles has a varied career path that traverses, photography, design and architecture. Giles worked in London for 5 years as a photographer, specialising in architectural photography for advertising and editorial clients.
Since returning to Australia in 1999 he worked on feature films as a still photographer for Stars Wars EPII and Moulin Rouge while studying graphic design and broadening his career options.
In 2002 Giles began work as a Projection Artist in Sydney, this area provides a perfect synergy of his skills. He has worked on large scale lighting and projection installations for Vivid Sydney and Christmas Celebrations for the past 5 years, including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Town Hall, St Mary's Cathedral and Customs House. His work has been projected in Singapore, Malaysia, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Doha, Germany, London, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver, Abu Dhabi, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide. This vast body of work has encompassed public funded art projects to corporate events and sporting events watched by billions of people around the world. Giles is currently a Master of Design candidate at UTS studying lighting design and interactive systems.
Producer
Kate Driscoll-Wilson has worked in the performing arts industry for over nine years. She has produced over 100 drama, dance, music, educational programs & outdoor public events for Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane Festival & Riverfestival before joining AGB Events in November 2011.
Kate has worked with world renowned orchestras and a diverse range of musicians including violin virtuoso Nigel Kennedy, the RocKwiz orchestra and country music legend Graeme Connors. Her project highlights include the Launch of Queensland Music Festival 2011, Earth Dialogues 2006 with Mikhail Gorbachev & working with Fabrica Musica – Benneton’s Communication Centre in Italy to produce two new multi-media musical productions involving international artists and live satellite performances from Belfast, Jerusalem and Istanbul. With a background in film & theatre, Kate possesses an in-depth understanding of production values in both film, theatre, music and major events.
Kate has also produced major events and fundraising appeals for not-for-profit organisations including Surf Life Saving Foundation.
